Mapping LGBTQ Little Magazines, 1954-1995 (2013)

~ Concordia University Libraries and Queer Between the Covers present a magazine/zine show with rare queer materials from the library collection ~

One of the interesting elements of the Concordia Library’s Gay and Lesbian Literature Collection is the many issues of defunct LGBTQ little magazines from Québec, Canada, the United States and Europe. Generally published in small runs, these magazines offer contemporary research value about the lesbian and gay communities they served. Despite their relatively recent origins, popular lesbian and gay magazines are fairly rare among university library collections in Canada; their assemblage within one collection, the Gay and Lesbian Literature Collection, is perhaps even rarer.

Curated by Vince Graziano.

The show will be open thoughout the month of August daily for visitation at the Webster Library Entrance Area.
